John graduated from the University of Kansas with distinction and a B.A. in Human Biology. He received multiple scholarships, completed a study abroad program in Germany, and served as a Peer Leader in the Biology department. He was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa honors society.
John graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine, becoming Dr. Worley. He received the Jerome McCullogh, MD Scholarship and numerous honors in clinical rotations. He held many leadership positions throughout his time in medical school.
Dr. Worley completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he developed his love for spine surgery. He was beloved by his co-residents and consistently performed in the top quartile of orthopaedic residents nationwide on written examinations. He was the first Resident Research Enrollment Champion and earned the Littlejohn Legacy Research Award.
Dr. Worley completed his orthopaedic spine surgery fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was trained in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery, completing over 300 spine surgeries in his year-long fellowship.

Dr. Worley was born and raised in Columbia, Missouri and attended Rock Bridge High School where he was a member of successful basketball teams. He has many fond memories of tough games against Jefferson City opponents.
Outside of clinic and the OR, Dr. Worley enjoys spending time with his wife, Kaylee, their young children, and dogs in Jefferson City. They especially enjoy family dinners, movie nights, and days at the lake together.
Dr. Worley enjoys staying active through weightlifting and golf and is a lifelong Mizzou Tiger and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
